Canvas
Liz Jupp graduated from Cheltenham Arts College in 1986, since then she has travelled and lived across the country working as an artist.
After being inspired by the Cornish coastline and whilst teaching her Art, Liz’s work became popular and she decided to create a company and a name for her work, giving way to Juppi.
Since Juppi was created and in response to the high demand, Liz has focussed on translating her unique artwork into limited edition canvas's, fabrics and greeting cards.
The Designs.
Using the ancient resistant printing technique of Batik as a foundation Liz created a method unique to Juppi.
By treating the canvas as part of the artwork and preparing in a certain way before painting, Liz has created a depth of pattern not normally found in paintings, but more often found in print work.
' It is important to me that I let the canvas, with its bumps and grooves, guide me, and then, ultimately, the subject matter evolves '
